Medical Scrubs Are For The Medical Professionals
Worn by almost entire medical workforce are the medical scrubs. These scrubs are not just for surgeons but as well as for those who needs to interact with their patients. Until the early 20th century, medical personnel wore their regular clothes when performing surgeries. In the mid 1900’s they saw the need to introduce surgical clothing or medical scrub. This is for the purpose of protecting the surgeons from infection. The medical uniforms that time were colored white to represent cleanliness and conscientiousness. The color, was eventually changed to green for the sake of comfort and as well as convenience.
There are different types of medical scrubs. They are now available in any patterns and colors. The Pediatric scrubs are worn by Pediatric staff members. These are the types with cartoon characters and with bright and cheerful prints. Some hospitals are using different colors for medical scrubs to identify the members of their various departments. For instance, the lavender or pink apparels are for those who are working in the delivery department while the light blue outfits are for those who are working in the surgery. Before, the terms medical scrubs and surgical scrubs are synonymously used since they were worn by surgeons and those working inside the operation room. Today, each categories are specified differently because they all have their own specific colors.
